NOTE: as of 8 March, I am barely here, only checking in sporadically until the site takedown

Been writing cowboy love songs for Best Beloved for 21 FAWMS, but for the past 18 months I've been composing a short orchestral soundtrack ambient sorta thing once a week. So who knows what'll happen this year.

Though I forgot FAWM till I got the email the morning of February 1st, so there's that.

I didn't want to drop this in the thread, but you are welcome, I'm glad the perspective got another thumbs up.

All that AI labeling and filtering has me laughing because all I can think is how awful it sounds to add more details that I need to parse out regardless of my feelings toward AI (they are very middle-of-the-road). My interest in the jukebox is that it has fewer options and I'll respond to anything that stands out.

Thanks for your note!

Hi Joel! Re: #GerryRafferty, haha, I like it! Re: a collab, sorry I'm responding at the 11th hour. Real life has been busy and I haven't had much to say musically.

However, I know you like expanding into orchestrations so how about this for a collaboration. If you write a melody or theme, plus chords or harmony, with as much or little detail as you like. Then I can set it with a chamber ensemble, I would find that to be fun. Possibly expanding the piece. Depending on what it's about or whether it's a song, there could be a vocal track or voice-over afterwards, too, from either of us.

If this idea works for you, I could get enough of it done by friday night to post at least the placeholder with a straight face, and unveil this weekend? You have my email, reach out if you like the idea :-)

Dude, Resonance is back this year!

Hey, thanks much for your kind words about my song. I just now threw the lyrics up there; I think the difficulty in hearing them is less about your hearing and more about the fact that I recorded guitar and vocals in one take on a single mic at a level that was way too hot.

Thanks for listening to my Cauliflower song and leaving your nice comments. I just left some feedback for you about your Marble Canyon instrumental, great work there.

Joel, thanks for your kind words on my song, A Good Chance. I appreciate the listen.

I think it calls for a song about spandex and the other nonsense words :)

Haha, neither am I. Must have been some strange spell check on my mobile phone. I too "spandex" away.

Ah yes! A close friend of mine is on that journey as well and they too have noted digestive stuff. I see them every few months and each time it's a bit of a shock like "Where did part of you go?" I'm glad it's been so good for you overall!

Yes to a collab one day! And thank you so much for the words of support for my palindromic ballad!!

Well I think I had your twang in mind because (not being a guitarist at ALL!) this ended up with a ukulele! Hope you like it- I started to work it out as a piece in 5/8 to match o-k-yes-o-k but my brain got tired !

Thanks for the comment on 'This is Supposed to Be Fun'. I was halfway to singing a NSFW lyric but changed it at the last minute to 'FAWM it' just to get the hashtag πŸ˜€ πŸ˜€

Haha yes those sort of chips! I have some more lyrics for you. Equally silly. I’m working all day today but who knows. Might be able to make it into something tomorrow. It could use a twangy guitar??

Thanks so much for commenting on "I Can See You Now", it means a lot that our song can mean something to others as well as ourselves. Appreciated your words greatly. 🌻

Ahhh you just gave me my first ever FAWM song review! Thank you so much. Glad my song landed in a pleasant, yawny sort of way!
