Me voy a México
Liner Notes
One of my goals this year was to sing a song in Spanish. I’ve been taking Spanish classes since last September, and last week, I worked with one of my teachers to refine the lyrics and make sure they felt natural.
Lately, I’ve had Bad Bunny’s new album on repeat (it’s incredible), and it inspired me to try my hand at a Salsa track. I call this genre Salsa de Blanca (White Salsa—LOL). The music turned out even better than I imagined, and making it was pure joy.
Vocals? First verse and choruses—pretty solid. Second verse? Not so much. I wrote the lyrics before I had the music, so some parts don’t quite land, and yeah, I mispronounce a few words. But that’s okay. This was about pushing myself, having fun, and embracing the challenge. And on that front, I couldn’t be prouder.
Lyrics
Verse 1 México tiene mi corazón Las mujeres más hermosas del montón Estoy listo pa hacer de este lugar mi hogar Este es el momento, el momento
Chorus Me voy a México Nos vemos pronto Quiero ver tus playas Quiero comer tu comida
Me voy a México Nos vemos pronto Quiero conocerte mejor Quiero sentir tu calor
Verse 2 Guey no entiendes la magia La gente no se cierra ni es mala Puedes ir y siempre bienvenido Aunque seas gringo, gringo
English: Verse 1 Mexico has my heart The most beautiful women in the bunch I'm ready to make this place my home This is the time, this is the time
Chorus I'm going to Mexico I'll see you soon I wanna see your beaches I want to eat your food
I'm going to Mexico See you soon I want to know you better I want to feel your warmth
Verse 2 Dude you don't understand the magic People are not closed off or bad You can go and you're always welcome Even if you're gringo, gringo

Well now, that's some sexy ballroom shit going on there. Like your brass arrangement, and the jazzy chord choices.
Dude, maybe sing more in Spanish? See, you're a competent signer, but in this song you're emoting in a very lekker. Like, you're holding notes and then doing vibrato on the end of them.
Do THAT more. It sounds fkn great.
great production! great way to challenge yourself
Very cool. Sound like you could be conversational in Spanish. Nice horns too!
That one gets the head bopping and the hips swaying. Production is super. Such a clean mix and perfect timing. Good singing too. Kudos to you, sir.
Loved everything about this song. Can you also post a translation in English for us who ‘no hablo Espanol?” Great job!
WOW! as if it isn't challenge enough you thrown spanish in there. Well you defo got the vibe and sound perfect and i love that brass. Somehow the versatiliy and skill in your vocal fits so perfectly , you could be spanish!! perfect chord progression and i love its something so different. top work
I don’t speak Spanish, so I have no educated feedback but writing a song in a language you are learning is an awesome achievement! Love that you chose salsa too, it’s extremely danceable to, great work
Also, I am learning a local language called Sepedi, except I'm learning an extremely localized version of it. It's equivalent to me being unable to speak English, and then deliberately choosing to specifically learn Redneck.
There is no way I could sing in Sepedi yet. And only since September? Smart kid.
