Sometimes when the melody comes first, it's like the soundtrack for a non-existent movie. The challenge is to figure out what that movie is about.

Something Out My Window
By Peter Alway, Feb 4-6 2025
Something’s pulling me something is calling me I don’t know this new sound Something’s pulling me something is calling me I don’t know where I’m bound
Something’s drawing me out of my window Up to the mountains and down to the sea Something’s drawing me out of my window Wonders to witness and creatures to be Rising and falling it waxes and wanes Burning in sunlight and rippling in rains Something is calling me that much is true Though I can hear it, it’s hidden from view
Something’s pulling me something is calling me I don’t know what I’ll see Something’s pulling me something is calling me I don’t know what I’ll be
Over snowscapes and under the starlight Swim through the air to the land of my dreams Floating by on the whims of the blue night Feeling the chill and the warmth of star beams A score to a movie that no one has seen Waiting to grow on my glass-beaded screen Glowing with pulsating flickers and flares Something impossible waits for me there
Something’s pulling me something is calling me I don’t know how it goes Something’s pulling me something is calling me I don’t know how it grows
Something’s drawing me out of my window Up to the mountains and down to the sea Something’s drawing me out of my window Wonders to witness and creatures to be

Oh wow, this one is awesome too!! What beautiful journeys there are to be embarked on. ⛵
I can picture you as the court bard performing this in a human court after you visted faery. Like Phil I like the line "A score to a movie that no one has seen” but I like even more its subsequent line, "Waiting to grow on my glass-beaded screen."
I could picture this on a stage in a musical. Definitely something whimsical and fantastical.
I sometimes call that "instant movie, just add movie." What this movie will be is a mystery, and you make it one I'd want to follow.
The words and the sound here make me think of someone living at the edge of faerie without knowing it...maybe.
I like the idea of, "A score to a movie that no one has seen." Long ago, I encountered a song called "Theme For an Imaginary Western" and was captivated by the title.
This is lovely. I want to find out what I’d be!
Utterly gorgeous! Your imaginative story-telling is better than any movie.
