Liner Notes
I wanted to write something in the vein of John Prine.
Lyrics
I was told this is the land of the free And it was made for you and me That’s what I was lead to believe They say I shouldn’t complain It’s the cost of the American dream You can be who you want to be As long as you can cover the fees

All my money goes to eggs and rent And I pay more taxes than the 1% I can’t say how it's getting spent The checks are all out of balance Buying bombs and fighter jets But education don't get a cent So what good is the government

What a lyric – painful in a good way.
"It's the final season anyway" – I believe that too (I left the country for political reasons 8 years ago), and yet it hurts my heart to read it.
"I pay more taxes than the 1%" – YES, spread the word! Glad someone put that fact in a song.
Really well done. And I am absolutely agreeing about the feeling here. "It's the final season anyway" packs a real punch. Glad you wrote and posted this one.
VERY relatable! great song about what a shitshow this all is. the chorus is real catchy. nice work on this
Wow, this is a great song, so well put in the Lyrics and put to music as well. Love it!
Very powerful protest song here. Agree with others that "it's the final season anyway" is a great line. Really well done.
