Lyrics
When there ain't no file In your birthday cake And your guitar playing hand Has started to shake When Dracula comes in And you ain't got no stake That's when you know It's the Year of the Snake
When you find your Rolex Ain't nothing but a fake And you keep on stepping On that garden rake And you can't seem to shed That mysterious ache You know you've arrived At the Year of the Snake
You can run to the hills You can jump in the lake You know you can't hide From the Year of the Snake
Deep down you know luck Ain't something you make No matter how much you pray For Jesus's sake The more you gonna give The more they gonna take That's just how it goes In the Year of the Snake
You can run to the hills You can jump in the lake You know you can't hide From the Year of the Snake

These lyrics are great. So many strong phrases (I particularly like "you keep on stepping on that garden rake" and "the more you gonna give the more they gonna take"), and the underlying theme of bad luck is such a staple of the blues. Nice work on guitar and vocal as well. Great job.
I like it. Several parts made me smile (hope that's OK). Feels like a song (and very much fits a traditional plan: A A B A B. Looking forward to listening if you add music.
Great blues song. The lyrics are excellent and capture the snake-bitten feeling that accompanies moving from the Year of the Dragon to the Year of the Snake. Certainly feels that way so far. The performance is also really well done. I enjoyed my listen.
