Liner Notes

Letting the Korg #Wavestate off the leash this morning. And I was having far too much #PlayWithDelay fun on the Squier Strat to notice that this had taken a #trance turn, instead of my usual #bigProduction #progressiverock ...

Lyrics

Taught you could have anything and nothing need be earned by destiny you thought was on your side We're watching you discovering one last lesson to be learned: Reality can't always be denied

Insisting that a thing is true When clearly it is not like some grotesque, abominable child The truth not just opaque to you; it seems like you forgot how deeply and how widely you're reviled

You loved to read "My Struggle" (a thing you've never done) No filter on the thoughts you spewed out loud Morality was absent Victim of your hit-and-run Playing to the basest of the crowd

At last your wish was granted and we're dancing in the street The biggest celebration ever seen! Elusive in your victory But there in your defeat: the most fun any funeral has been!

The tragedy is that the people who really need to hear this message will never let themselves hear it. It's like the clapback Ozymandias will never hear. What a devastatingly brilliant last line as well. The minimal guitar lead lines work so well to hold everything together as it builds up gradually. Really cool

Powerful! Maybe not your usual big production stuff, but it's still BIG. For a while I'm having the feeling that it's going to explode, and then it does, but softly, more like something that opens up than like something that bursts. That delay guitar is haunting, and all the stuff happening around it, stellar.

Reality can't always be denied...ha!. I thought this was about Trump at first, but I'm not sure he's even claimed to read a book, and he certainly didn't read his own. Love the slow build, the steadily building intensity. The occasional chord blast shakes me out of my trance. Love that last line. Wow, I scarcely noticed the passage of time

The opening air holds the tension so well until the track hits harder, creates some nice anticipation, really great sounding track!

Lovely Chris, nice atmos with the wavestate textures and the floaty guitar is lush, as with all your tracks the sound production is quality!

Really powerful stuff, there's menace in that throbbing pulse that really suits those excellent, if grim, and very of the moment lyrics. I love it when the kick kicks in accompanied by those massive sinister sci-fi sweeps. Great stuff.

yup great drive, that back beat is good! I like all the parts that sit separate but play together nicely!'

Theres a really fantastic pulse to this. It feels really driving and focused.

Oh, this is LUSH! The tension that runs through it is fantastic. I kept waiting for it to explode, and then there's that gorgeous moment around 2:50 when it snaps, yet it still keeps building. Wowza.

@aeye

That intro is killer. Builds, then the big hit. right into the vocals without getting too big. Masterful. This has an awesome slow build to it which hits at exactly the right times. Awesome.

oh man, these lyrics are so good. Hypnotic backing track. I love how wide the mix feels, especially around 3 min in. Very cool!

Oh hell this is good both lyrically and musicaly. The guitar breakdown nails a Gilmour vibe. Really Floydian...love this!
