Liner Notes
This one, part of the concept album/rock opera/song cycle/pretentious piece of crap I'm writing this FAWM, has a strange origin.
The droning piano melody and bassline originate from the first FAWM I took part in, 2010. Since then it has lingered around, but I never found a use for it, so it existed solely as a little looping bar in an FL Studio file.
Brought it out of purgatory, wrote a melody for it, stitched on another old idea I had to make it longer, wrote some words, applied 15 years of growing production and arrangement skills... and here it is.
The second half of the song has a vague Andrew WK vibe, which is a bit odd for me, but it is what it is.
Drums: SD3 Fields of Rock Bass: EZbass Guitar: Danelectro '59 through STL Tonehub, Tonex Synths/keys: FM8, Mellotron, EZkeys, The Maverick piano (Kontakt) Vocals: Through Ovox
Plus a computer-melting number of plugins... I'm surprised it's not on fire with all the saturations, delays, reverbs, tapes, etc.
Lyrics
on your deathbed, i promised you life evermore but i can't be there forever in life, never encore
i cannot wake up from this nightmare the horrors are here in my head stuck in a coma of my own making i lie to myself i'm getting better
remember, remember
i can't wake up, the horrors are here in my head i'm not getting younger, the lies that they tell are getting stronger
remember, remember remember, remember

Atmospheric modern rock. Love it!
Yeah, this one song I'm listening to speaks to the efficacy of your writing and how your future album will rock! Excellent lyrics + vocals and the backing track rocks.
What a tune. That piano motif is so hypnotic. Definitely a song of two halves as well. Love the change up to a more upbeat tune. Production is insane. I need you to mix an album for me at some point
DUDE!! The intro did not prepare me for how epic this would get mid song. LOVE your vocal production on this! I feel like I'm listening to a fully produced song! Just went to your profile. OF COURSE! radioovermoscow!!! Good to see ya! Killer track! Sheesh! Your computer is suffering, but it was worth it. This sounds SO THICK.
This sounds like the main character is lost in a swirling state. Love all the sound choices. Awesome story of origin - maybe I should also delve into old folders...
Nicely resurrected from yester-fawm. I love how the piano becomes syncopated when the, um, rest of the band kicks in. Wonderful controlled use of the plug-in myriad -- that's some neat swirly reverb-delay-etc. before the handover to part two. Nice details abound: the flam sound on the tom-tom fills tickled me too! I don't know AWK ... but rather than researching, I lazily substituted Ultravox Rage In Eden era for outrageously over-the-top grandness. Wonderful stuff.
