Nessie

Liner Notes

#cryptid #singersongwriter #folklore Another, probably last attempt at this one. And none too serious

Lyrics

Nessie comes out once a year But only for the tourists When she sees scientists hanging round She never likes to appear

A legend since before the dawn Of time when things were new Nessie swims beneath the deep Making fans anew, in America

Some blurry photos long ago Long since then debunked They will not shake my faith in you Still got the sceptics stumped In America, Canada too

Nessie be me saviour We believe in you We yearn for the unknown Wouldn’t be the same if you were shown To be real, Well that’s just how I feel

Nessie comes out once a year But only for the tourists Look fast, look long You’ll see Nessie swimming along

Ah, Nessie. Didn't know there was a connection to North America...! We went to the Loch once. Didn't see her though 🙁

This has all the makings of a folk song. I especially like the personal point of view, which of course is just what makes it so different from all those scientific researchers.
