Lyrics

I didn't know I could break a heart, babe It's not a thing I'd want to do I didn't know I could break a heart, babe

Oh, I'm not looking for another chance But what I wouldn't give for one more dance Yeah, it's something I still think about

I didn't know I could break a heart, babe No, I didn't have a clue I didn't know I could break a heart, babe

Oh, I don't believe you're gonna hear me now No, I don't believe that you'd believe me anyhow But it's something that I think about

I didn't know I could break a heart, babe I only knew it could happen to me I didn't know I could break a heart, baby

Oh oh, you moved on You a long time gone And you had your reasons But I didn't know I could break a heart, babe I only knew it could happen to me I didn't know I could break a heart, babe I would've done something differently I would've done something differently I would've done something

This has such a great hook right out of the gate. Great vocal. I get jealous of a at least a few songs on here every year. This is definitely one I wish I’d written. Fantastic job.

@philnorman ooh, re: I wonder about using "that's something I think about" again after the one more dance line to as repetition?

Thanks for this suggestion. I'll give it a try. I have been fussing with this since I first posted it.

And already changed the demo once.

Of course I'm listening to Tom Petty. Oh wait, nope, it's Klyma. #hehadacheektowagaaccent

This is so strong. The title line is a sneaky hook that sets itself slowly. As in, man, that song was great, play that again, Greg. (I did just that and listened twice)

The second stanza/b part works really well, I love the way "something I think about" resolves back to the break a heart babe melody. I wonder about using "that's something I think about" again after the one more dance line to as repetition?

"woulda done something differently" is a great way to close with a variation on the hook. ⭐ gold star for Klyma!

Man I love that sentiment. Great great idea that vibe of not realizing your affect on people in your life. Great stuff man. Real good

Now that is one awesome track! Such emotion and tenderness all wrapped up in a great melody. Love the delivery and the rawness in this. Instant classic. Well done.
