Shine

Skirmish: Shine! (@nightwing521)

Liner Notes

Lyrics

Just step out on the stage Time to escape your cage I know you know you’re looking fine You’re racing on ahead You’re going to knock ‘em dead The time has come for you to shine

You’re cards close to your chest But you can be the best I know you’re not being sold a line Don’t keep your pretty face There in a secret place The time has come for you to shine

You curl up in a ball You just don’t care at all As prickly as a porcupine I know just what you are a future superstar The time has come for you to shine

I know you’ve been afraid But all the plans are laid I saw you and it was a sign The moment has arrived your failing hope revived The time has come for you to shine

omg, I loved this. I'm beaming. Your music is such a delight--I love the clever lyrics--the use of cliches feeding off cliches was brilliant. This was great. To think it was a skirmish piece. Dang. Well done.

@heather

Great message and great rhyming - and a perfect pep talk for any of us feeling conflicted about sharing our talents…

Nicely thought out and rhymed, putting the focus as it should be, on the performer and the performance just ahead. Really captures the moment.

Wow, this is very good. The consistent rhymes make a solid foundation--I'm looking at you, porcupine!--for an uplifting message. Nice choice of the uke, which seems appropriate; but this song could also be performed by a theatrical orchestra. Excellent skirmish!

A wonderful song full of so much encouragement! I really like the contrast of the bright, fast paced uke with your slower paced lovely deep vocals. I really enjoyed your song. Great skirmish!
