Saw two grebes sitting on the water I looked away for a second They disappeared Swimming underwater Finding things to eat Their crests shone in the sunlight Personal treat of the day Two grebes with each other Getting along together Surfaced quite a distance away Seemed to be enjoying themselves Blending into the background Difficult to photograph They always seem to know when You’re going to press the shutter Diving for cover Two grebes
