Fist

by @rshakesp

Liner Notes

The 8th song in my effort '12 short nonsense songs about love'. In this one not all relationships are equitable!

Lyrics

She battered him With a rolled up hand A passion from A love never bland He covered up As the blows they struck He knew his place He knew his luck

Fist (I love you) Fist (You know I do)

She said you shouldn’t Ever do that again Or your in for a World of pain And he loves her So he knows it’s true She only does it cos She loves him too.

This heavier than I expected! The one word chorus with the screaming guitar and whoos make this unhinged in the best way! Listened twice, too much fun!

This song's harsh angular chords speak the truth of the suffering of the male victim in this lyric.

What an unexpected vibe! Indie punk energy meets dissonance

Do you know the song "Kiss with a fist"? Reminded me if it in teems of energy, but its a different vibe.

Blimey. Enjoying the vibe. Is there a tiny bit of Lay All Your Love On Me in the verse melody? I say this, all my songs are blatant retreads of other things

This could be released on 4AD during the 80s. Those discordant guitar chords that ping about are so strange and unsettling. Proper post punk. Really enjoyed this dark trip.
