Mi Amore Goodbye

#minorkey #skirmish #lovesong #unexpected Wow, I never thought I would be writing this song. The unexpected occurs with a FAWM skirmish! The skirmish was to write a song inspired by Page 32 of a nearby book. Mine was How To Write Songs, and page 32 and 33 were charts of Major and Minor Sixth Chords. So why not give it a try. Well, the sound was kinda sad and mystical. I wrote and recorded the chord progression first, and then the lyrics. An unexpected result. I had some technical difficulties with the recording, so it's coming in a bit late for a skirmish

Lyrics

Mi Amore Goodbye

Mi amore, I see you in the clouds A halo of the sun surrounds your face You wave goodbye and slowly turn away A memory I hope will never fade

Daylight ebbs as sunset lights the clouds In waning waves of red and gold Venus shines as darkness fills the sky And I slowly turn away now on my own

Lovely and interesting sound, I must play more with minor 6ths. Lately I have been getting too hung up on the sparkly wonder of major 7ths 😀 The uncertainty in the lyric is perfect for those chord sounds 😎

Beautiful! You paint a bittersweet and lovely picture with your lyrics.

OOH-what a lucky page 32! I especially love minor 6 chords-unsettling and you're less sure what key you are in. I like the image of turning away-it says a lot without being specific. Nice job.

I am a sucker for major and minor 6ths. Beatles used Maj 6ths a lot. Gypsy jazz uses minor 6ths a lot. Very interesting chord changes. The changes in the lyrics reflects the changes. Well done Mark!
