All Hail the God-King!
Liner Notes
Bit of an outlier for me, as this is a genre I've literally never done before!
I've been working on this one for over a week off and on (listening to it on repeat counts as working on it, right?). I feel like it still needs more parts, as the arrangement is a bit samey but I suppose that's kinda what dub reggae is like!
Lyrics
All we have are memories Of the memories we once had When the clowns run the circus Pontification ain't so bad
So all hail the God-King His macho deportment belies All that pent up poison Simmering behind his eyes
The melody sings The malady brings me down The melody sings He's taking flesh by the pound
He wants an eye for an eye But we both know he won't stop there Overcome your common senses Til you're bereft beyond repair
The melody sings The malady brings me down The melody sings He's taking flesh by the pound

This has the feel of a dirge - not in the boring/tedious sense but as in a funeral song. Is all dub reggae regardless? This doesn’t seem like reggae but it certainly has all the dub elements. I’ll stop typing now.
Nicely done. I have a fondness for dub reggae / indie-rock crossover stuff because The Boo Radleys were my first proper favourite band and they do a lot of dubby stuff on Giant Steps. Really like the melody / malady stuff in the lyrics!
Interesting song, reggae with Egyptian vibes.Reed-type sounds and phaser guitar sounds fits in very well. I like it.
You pretty much nailed the genre in the first couple of bars. I get strong Gorillaz vibes from this tune, y'know, that middle aged white dude trying dub angle. Which reminds me that I found out the hilarious secret behind "Clint Eastwood" the other day, but I'll save that for another time. Something tells me this song isn't about Dune. It does continue your form of nice sounding guitars this year though, different tone to this take but cool sound nonetheless.
