Guardians Of The Rings

Liner Notes
I learned that five of Saturn's moons are called "Shepherd Moons" because they look after the ring system, and without them the rings would be scattered all over. Sometimes they're called the "Guardians of the Rings". How can you not write a song when you learn such a thing?
There's a #ukulele or two, and, because it's in space, that means by law there has to be #synth as well. Still #nerdfolk though.
Maybe I'll work out what the tune is eventually, but I think it's roughly the same in each verse and chorus here :).
Lyrics
Keeping an eye as they circle the skies To Janus' delight there's a red sky tonight Keeping them safe from the wolves By their gravitational pull
For their god and their king They're the guardians of the rings
Titan's rocks Tend to their flocks Herding from within The guardians of the rings
Doing their rounds, wandering proud Steering the crowd, inside and out By Prometheus' hook And Epimetheus' crook
For their god and their king They're the guardians of the rings
Titan's rocks Tend to their flocks Herding from within The guardians of the rings
Under Daphnis' careful gaze The sheep may safely graze Pan will call the tune As they dance across the moon
For their god and their king They're the guardians of the rings
Titan's rocks Tend to their flocks Herding from within The guardians of the rings
The guardians of the rings

As a wise and smart woman said, and a clever and witty man repeated, "Poetical science!"
Really like how you made gods into sheppards! I agree, once you learn weird stuff, esp. in February, you have to write a song!
Who says that in an age where we understand the science of such things, we can’t create poetry about it as well? Your song is stirring and wistful, and I couldn’t help but sing along to the chorus. I think the synthesizer was a bold and insightful choice. It really works.
The background synth has a smoothed-out organ kind of tone that adds a peaceful touch...appropriate for shepherding. Nice!
More education for me! I thought we had gone all Tolkien at first but nope, good ol Saturn. The synth really settle the song so well! Nice one
Definitely a cool song concept! I really like the B7 chord where it is, very good choice. And the vocal harmonies on the chorus add to the feeling of there being multiple guardians. Neat idea that the planet is like their god and king, too. This is a keeper - my one suggestion might be to mention Saturn in it somewhere, just for those who don't recognize that you're talking about THAT Titan and THOSE rings. Greek mythology is confusing, lol. Other than that, this is spiffy.
This is lovely. And indeed... once you learn such a thing you must write a song. Extra space tracks on the chorus help with the mood. Well done.
Ah, who but you would be inspired to write this? I like the spacy keyboard in the background. Works well. Fun and educational! I didn't know this!
