Rage

Liner Notes

Paying homage to Dylan Thomas, I've sampled an excerpt from "Do Not Go Gentle into that Good Night" and wrote lyrics around the two main lines. Similar to his poetic style, I began with the two lines, then alternated each line at the end of subsequent stanzas. I then recombined the two lines at the end of the song.

My take on the song was to turn it into a beacon of hope within the depths of dystopian despair, a song to remind us all of the light that shines within us. Even when things seem cold and horrible, there's always warmth and a reason to continue fighting #electronic #industrial #cyberpunk #midtempo #motivational

Lyrics

Chorus: Do not go gentle into that good night. Rage, rage against the dying of the light.

In the Chaos of this world, temptation appears To end the suffering and all one's fears Welcoming the embrace of Eternal sleep Leaving behind the One's who weep

Know there's a Beacon shining in your core To cast away the Shadows forevermore Don't give in to the City's Blight Do not go gentle into that good night

Your love touches hearts, you're always giving A reason to feel, a reason for living So ignite your passion, take arms, and fight Rage, rage against the dying of the light

You are not alone, I'm always by your side A comrade forever whom you can confide Do not go gentle into that good night Rage, rage against the dying of the Light

Chorus

Oh my, I did enjoy the ominous vibe of this one, very nicely done. The brief instrumental interlude at about the 2:30 mark was a nice respite. The relative optimism of the last verses lends a sense of dark hope. Nice work here!
