lay that burden down

Liner Notes
Nuttin' much to say here.
Lyrics
lay that burden down, brother
lay that burden down
put it on the ground, sister
don't need it around
We'll burn those burdens, one by one
Up in flames, toward the sun
Turn them into ash and smoke
They'll waft away, a tired joke
take it off your back, cousin
take it off your back
kick it off the track, uncle
put it on the stack
Years are wasting day by day
Hold my hand, and we can say
Now we've got to let it go
No more time to take it slow
Kick it to the side, auntie
Kick it to the side
Open up the sack, daddy
Take it off your back

I enjoyed this a lot. Good message, great vocal delivery, and I love the buzzy metal slide sounds - they add real character.
Great tune, country blues goodness all the way. Also fits into one of my favourite genres, what I call secular gospel 😎
An utterly charming song - great instrumentation too. The waltz time would make it a great song to dance to!
Sounds like an old spiritual! Themes we can all identify with. The organ really adds a nice touch. Campfire vibes.
Wow! This is fantastic! Love all around here: this great blues vibe with some Southern energy and your vocals! Very good lyrics fit the music perfectly and made me sing along with you!
i really like the instrumental track. it is so unlike what one would expect. on the other hand, i with the weavers were still around and in their prime so i could hear them backing you up with their vocals and traditional instruments.
Some of the most powerful tunes are the ones with simple direct lyrics-- I like yours for exactly that reason: wise words indeed to lay down our burdens. like the little musical interlude as well. a great listen.
Nice old time folk music feel. Great vocal and slide guitar.
