Dreamcatcher

Liner Notes
We wanted to write a rowdy power pop song and this is the result. It started with the riff, which developed as we went along. My amp needs new valves which meant the trashy guitar tone comes from a cheap solid state I bought for £30 in Penzance.
The tale is based around a tour guide lured into the glamour of life as a hippie. And in particular a sweet smelling lady who wears a dreamcatcher around her waist.
The sample at the start of the song is from the American comedian David Drake (@daviddrakecomedy), a snippet of his stand up that was served up as we were writing the song and fit the vibe…
Lyrics
Verse 1 Picture yourself on an open top bus guided tour I’ve never seen such a sweet smelling hippie before Whatever they put in these cakes I don’t know but it’s strong
Verse 2
Is it hot in here or should I maybe loosen my tie I’ll Hand in my notice right now and join their happy tribe Whatever they put in these drinks I don’t know but I’m gone (whoooooooo yeah)
Chorus She wore a dreamcatcher She wore a dreamcatcher She wore a dreamcatcher I want a dreamcatcher
Post chorus
One look and I’m done Basking in the sun Holding out for fun But just reads my palm She only interested in reading my palm
Verse 3
Imagine it’s your first time travelling around on your own Letting your freak flag fly high clothes are coming undone Whatever they put in this pipe I don’t know but it’s strong Oooooohhh yeah
Double chorus
She wore a dreamcatcher She wore a dreamcatcher I took her dreamcatcher I wear a dreamcatcher
Post chorus
Inhibitions are sunk Poppin off in my bunk She’s got me in a trance But now she’s left for France

A wild and crazy ride. I am enjoying your interesting stories. This a total blast. The fuzzy guitar and banging drums amp up the vibe perfectly. Cool song!
Straight-up, in your face, psychedelic rock. I love it. The lyrics are hilarious, and the trashy tone from that amp makes me think I ought to visit Cornwall more often. That's a tone and a half...
Love the beginning, the way that sample and riff run together and then the song opens up into a fuzzy joyful bundle. Feels 60s garage, which is right up my strasse. The yelping and whooping are great. Not enough of that in FAWM-land. You can taste the energy in this.
The sample works so well over the start of the music here. Obviously such a vibe with the heavy fuzz sounds. Very fun lyrics and sounds. The evolution of the chorus is nice.
Lot of fun. Kinda Beatlesey, but less than I expected it to be given the opening line.
