Faultline

Liner Notes

My pal Steve Potter and I have recorded songs together under various names - current band name is Ironclay - mostly grungy / metal guitar tunes. Just finished this rough demo, planning to evolve it quite a bit, but feedback is welcome. He did most of the instrumentation, I added some lyrics/vox and some weird synth accents.

Lyrics

We have been toiling in the silence Born from a world collapsed in violence A car is idling in the driveway and I can’t help thinking Our time has come to make a getaway

My ears are ringing from the gunshots Cornered inside with all the doors locked My fears emerging from the closet like a demon creeping Our time has come to make a getaway

My mind is racing now I don’t know how we made it Living on the faultline Living on the faultline

My teeth are grinding like a mortar White knuckles steer towards the border Maneuvering through fractured tunnels Pray to your god we can outrun it

My mind is racing now I hope we can escape it Living on the faultline Living on the faultline

My ego rides with thee My ego rides with thee My ego rides with thee My ego rides with thee

My ego dies with thee My ego dies with thee My ego dies with thee My ego dies with thee

The consequence of fate Witness the end of days Release has set us free My ego lies with thee

This is a cool song. Agree with the comment below that it suggests Black Sabbath to me. Great guitar work, and I like the "weird synth accents" as well. A nice set of metal lyrics, with a great performance. Really well done.

Rawk!!! The guitar is huge! Vox are cool. This reminds me of what sabbath a bit. Very very cool.

Melody in vocals is excellent and the guitar riff is really cool. Iwas thinking the guitar could start building up with the drums during your intro with some stabs and and then a build-up. Would add some weight to the moment when the instruments hit. The second verse I thought would have done really well with a solid beat to keep ythe drive going. The drop was amazing and the slow coda is great. Very good song already. Hits heavy and hard!

Awesome groove! Love the production and performance on the vocals. You nailed it with that spacey break! Seems like this would be a blast to hear and perform live.

Nice and gritty, like sliding through sand in a desert… those drums get that pacing then that vocal break comes and takes me somewhere else…. got me diving deep within Great job 🎶

@nadine

I did not know you have a band. These guitar hit hard. Clearly hear some grunge influence and the vocals have that commanding tone. You have a great energy.

As for feedback... I'd take deep dive into the vocal reverb. Don't know if it's a tad too wet, but the vocals are a bit too the background
