Ok so i not fully happy with the mix, i was trying to just stick to acoustic guitars with this one but ended up adding a bit of organ and guitar synth. I always aim for a 3 time 6/8 feel song at some point and thought it'd be nice to create something as happy sounding as possible.

Then i was pondering something an irish friend said this week. He runs all sorts of meditation courses, and was chatting to me about how we are all often the slave to our ingrained thoughts which makes sense of course. He'd been listening to a podcast called the telepathy tapes, and was musing how research is showing more and more that we truly can create actual life happening through our thoughts. again all makes sense. Anyway, I thought i'd scriblle some words about it all. ENJOY xxxx

Lyrics

A wise man said, do you feel alive? An answer direct , see me with your eyes He said no , thats not what i mean, you see Its time, for raised eyebrows inside

Leave me here tonight to see if I am alive

Do my thoughts define me Closing worlds surround me how can we understand things that live in the stars Magic signs

A time to try, manifesting inside a thought carried in time, is given a life We say yes, let consciousness flow unchecked Then i find, i'm changing my mind

So tell that story to me then i can truly be free

Yes my thoughts define me better worlds surround me we can all unlearn things that live in the soul feeling all is so bold

Being my soul means now we grow

So let thoughts define me inner worlds become me so i can be the best of me to live with the stars

Well, I'm currently doing a course of CBT (which I expressed frustration about on one of my songs) so this is oddly apt. It feels like a really liberating concept: I should check out that podcast. It sounds somewhat similar to what Viktor Frankl talked about in his book about the Holocaust about creating your own meaning in times of suffering. The 'be my soul' wig out section was really cool. I enjoyed that little 'woo!'. That organ riff is great as well. Really catchy and fun and made me think too.

This song has really positive energy, which is needed for effective magic. I felt good listening to it. I want to dance now. #tit4tat If you’re doing that. No pressure though.

Love the melodic groove to this song. Harmony vocals are awesome too! Would not change the station if this came on.

What a fun, trippy song - awesome percussive groove! I love all the instrumental choices. And I totally dig the "being my soul" bridge.

@morti

Awesome old-school psychadelic groove yes. Very good. Vocal melody is great and the little change-ups in rhythm are really fun. Love that chorus tune. Nice work.

This has a proggy, psychedelic feel to my ears. An uplifting melody really brings across the meaning of the words. Love the instrumentation you've chosen, even if it wasn't what you initially intended. The percussion helps drive that positive message too.

I love the feel of this one, both the 6/8 bounce as well as the joyful instrumentation. Your vocals are sublime, of course as are the wonderfully uplifting lyrics. The magic signs catchphrase is an ear worm. The positive energy jumps off the page and is infectious 🎶🎵🎶🎵

This just kicks off and rocks. Love the acid-prog feel, reminds me a bit of Jethro Tull, Roy Wood, and John Cale. Superb stuff, a real treat

The sound (jangly guitars, inspired harmonies and melodies) of so many of your songs take me to a place I love. And it always amazes me how quickly you put together such quality work . Fab arrangements with a magical journey. Top stuff.

Some really interesting chord progressions in here. The chorus is all kinds of catchy. Such great change of feels between verse to chorus to bridge, etc. I really like the organ too! Great song
