Where Do We Go From There?

Liner Notes

Here is our second collaboration with @cathreu. I posted my music on https://write.fawm.org/songs/312916 and I was thrilled to hear that we could collaborate on it. I love how our song turned out. Thank you to everyone for your listens and comments.

Cathreu here: When I heard this piece I was humming the melody before the halfway mark, and had the lyrics written in 15 minutes. I almost want to credit Nadia with them, because it felt as though this piece was moving my hand. I am very grateful that Nadia let me sing this.

Lyrics

Don't forget to fold the clothes clean your plate go to work pay your bills and try not to wonder

chorus Where do we go? There must be some kind of heaven Do we go alone into the fog?

call your friends tell them you love them walk the dogs tell them you love them

Be kind it's only human if only humans were so kind

chorus Where do we go? There must be some kind of heaven Do we go alone into the fog

Do we begin to float? become clouds become motion become vibrant become fragments full of life?

Where do we go? There must be some kind of heaven Do we go alone into the fog?

This piano piece is gorgeous. I can see why you were drawn to it, and the theme is an excellent fit. As we go along our ordinary lives, at some point we all do wonder what happens when we die. I like the suggestions to remember to speak and show love and kindness. This is a beautiful song. Wonderful collab! #tit4tat

"Be kind it's only human if only humans were so kind"

What a poetic verse, with its mirrored form but a meaning that's far from just saying the same things twice.

Captivating melody, Awesome piano performance!! I love the the upbeat, spiritual message of the lyrics. Loved the chorus!! This is an excellent collab with each doing what they do sop very well...and the result is a great tune with a great message!! #tit4tat

I really like your style. The piano on this is divine and made me feel so relaxed. The vocal is spot on and you’ve managed to do justice to these fab lyrics. Lovely collab. Very very nice song. #tit4tat

Nadia's music is simply beautiful! As always! Such an enchanting piece of music!!! Cathreu has written an awesome set of lyrics that feel as though they were meant to be with Nadia's music! Asking the Big Question!

I really enjoyed my listen!! Thank you both for creating such a lovely song!!! #tit4tat

Well hello you two maestros . Truly gorgeous in every way . The movement of those chords again Nadia blows my mind and the gentle deep expressive nature of the melody with those heartfel Lyrics makes for a perfect collab . Ps - adore the “where do we go” part especially

@nadine

I enjoy the melancholy. Could be a monologue scene in a sad movie. Its interesting that "become vibrant" sounds dark , so exactly the opposite

What a nice melancholic melody---it suits the questioning and wonder of the lyrics. This would be a good song in a stage production. Lovely collaboration!

there is a stumbling sense of indirection in the rhythm of the words across the musical avenues. that question of what road to take hovers over the song as many questions, both sacred and inane, pass through the traveler's mind.

Nice collab. I agree with @reboog711 I hear synths and pads in the background to give a nice sense of space and fog.

@reboog711

I can envision this with more synth and a more surreal / ethereal instrumental sound. But, it's great on the piano too.

I like the fog imagery at the end of the chorus and especially the third (?) verse that extends on that with floating, clouds, motion, etc..

Cool song!
