@saulius asked me for a collab. He had a rant that felt more like a rap song to me. He wanted to have a song with some electrified guitars that carried his anger.
He wrote this because his cousin just had died. She refused to go to hospital – because of the health costs! She simply laid down and died within three days!!!
This is haunting me since he told me about.
So, I had a quick musical idea and sent it over to him and he liked it. The next day I finished it and Saulius insisted that I should sing his words!
He wrote: "This is amazing work. This is the music that I was hoping for, but I knew that I couldn't create. The way you crescendo the piece at "each other" brings me to tears every time. And the way you bring the lead guitar in the outro... I love this. I also think that you are the perfect singer for the song. I don't know if anyone is going to hear this, but they should! - Final verdict: 10 out of 10!!!"
You see, he really tried hard to convince me. And I still feel a bit unsure about it. And I still don't know if I am allowed to work on this topic as a German (where most of the health costs are covered by our insurances). But he is right: this story should be spread around the world!
And if it is for Saulius I will do it!

My cousin's name was Neringa Raila. She lived with her sister Undine in Langley, WA USA. Last week Monday Neringa fell down the stairs and bumped her head. Her sister and niece urged her to go the emergency room to get checked out, but she refused. Cost was a major deterrent, and she thought that she would just heal up. We believe that she developed a blood clot. Undine found her sloped in her bed last week Thursday morning. Her ashes will be brought back to Lithuania where her mother and father now rest peacefully. RIP.

Oh man, this is just goosebump worthy. Thank you for writing it, paying homage to Saulius' cousin and all the victims of this dumpster fire. I say you are more than allowed to work on this topic as a German, because it is a HUMAN issue that knows no borders. Your empathy and compassion ring through and we Americans appreciate it profoundly.

Great! The lyrics are spot on and find their adequate musical outfit in this song. I'm happy to read and hear (and make) so many protest songs this year. My condolences to @saulius about your cousin. Reading that made me shudder. America is in fact a dystopian hellscape right now.
