Gambling: Don't Do It

Lyrics

I risked it all Oh boy it paid off Pride 'fore the fall 's what dreams are made of

Hard work is for the other guy, not me I risked it all and I'm made

I risked it all Should be declining Too close to call Needs some refining

Hard work is for the other guy, not me I risked it all and I'm fine

I risked it all First it was soothing The odds stacked up tall I came out losing

Hard work is for the other guy, not me But I risked it all and I lost

Good basic message. No pain, no gain. However, better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all. Good take

The house always wins in the end. But, it's no good telling a gambler that. Great cautionary tale, with an upbeat melody that works really well for the tale you're telling.

I like the contrast between the jaunty guitar and catchy melody versus the downer tale of a person who took too many chances.

I think there's a moral tale of gambling and winning first and then eventually losing it all? which is the truth so much of the time. I like your lyrics and enjoyed your take on the prompt. Thanks for taking part. :-)
