Lyrics

Yeah I left my job in the city Just stayed home Cleared out a whole big room Where I could let my spirit roam

I wrote everything I had On a big pad of paper Then one thing Plugged into another

And I risked it all for a song I risked it all for a song

I had to learn to sing in tune To follow a beat like I owned it Read the meters If there was a knob I was on it

The world has its ways But the clock could not tick The only time Was the metronome click

And I risked it all for a song I risked it all for a song

Love the line "But the clock could not tick." Would love to hear it when you get music.

That's a big risk to take, especially with the music business these days, but there's so much joy in the doing of it! I also loved the metronome line, and the progression of your process. I really enjoyed reading this. Let me know if it gets music 😀

"The only time Was the metronome click"

That was definitely a line from this amazing song that your narrator must have written - covered by Beyoncé, perhaps? 😉

One hit wonders can, indeed, set you up for life. I remember reading an interview with the guy from Mungo Jerry who wrote "In the Summertime" - He has lived off that one song for the rest of his life!

Must be a hell of a song! I really want to hear music with these lyrics.

Great set of lyrics. I like the room roam half rhyme. I like how there is no resolution. Is there a conclusion? did you win? leaving us guessing - always a great ploy. Fab. :-)
