@wildrainbow This began as my first experience of a collaboration and we had fun putting this together. At some point I hope to update the vocals, but time is running out and we wanted you to see what we had done

Lyrics

Across a smoky, cigarette fuelled haze, Our eyes caught, I met your gaze, I found I had to remember to breathe, Knew we were on the edge of something deep.

CHORUS Our sense of oneness was intense, Together we travelled hidden depths, Our hearts were thumping, souls ablaze, From the moment that we met. Though tragedy forced us apart, You still hold on to my heart. Long ago. Feels like yesterday.

Side by side, hand in hand, Weaving hopes, and dreams, and plans, Your intimate glance, your sensual touch, Held messages of your tender love.

CHORUS Our sense of oneness was intense, Together we travelled hidden depths, Our hearts were thumping, souls ablaze, From the moment that we met. Though tragedy forced us apart, You still hold on to my heart. So long ago. Yet feels like yesterday.

BRIDGE Meeting you was like coming home, You caressed my lips. You kissed my soul. Feels like yesterday.

FINAL CHORUS Our sense of oneness was intense, Together we travelled hidden depths, Our hearts were thumping, souls ablaze, From the moment that we met. Though tragedy forced us apart, You still hold on to my heart. Long ago. Far away. Feels like yesterday.

"Across a smoky, cigarette fuelled haze," is a splendid way of setting a scene. We're on a journey to a piano jazz ballad and a love story. Also loved the poetry in "You caressed my lips. You kissed my soul. ". #tit4tat

Timeless. Wonderful piano, exquisite melody, and it all just fits with the lyrics so hand-in-glove. The slant rhymes keep things from getting too saccharine.

As others have said, there's something very classic about it this. Could be in the middle of a Hitchcock film and I wouldn't bat an eye. Ear?

Excellent collab. #titfortat

This could be the song playing in a smoky lounge in a movie about WWll, with so many young soldiers leaving sweethearts behind. Lovely piano track, to carry these well written lyrics. Nice collaboration.

It certainly does feel like yesterday now. This wouldn't be out of place in wartime london during the blitz. It really does capture the era. The lyrics too would very much fit with the love and loss of the time. The vocal melody just completes it. This is a first rate song and worth the effort to finish it. :-)

So glad I came across this. Nadia has created a lovely, smoky atmosphere yet again, taking me right into the jazz lounge. The music is a perfect pairing for the wistful and longing in the vocal delivery and the lyrics. I don't know who this is being sung to, but heck, I miss them too! Very effective, making my eyes a little wet, which I greatly appreciate!

Very lovely piano music. Fits the lyrics very well I think. Theres a very old world feel to this - at the club, dancing together sort of thing. It will be interesting to hear the vocal line, I imagine it sung in a sultry voice with lashings of romance. very nice. :-) #tit4tat

The music is wonderful and soothing. I think it really fits the theme of the lyrics. I like the sliding chords, that makes it soft and smooth. The 7th and 9th tonic chords work really nice here.

Reading the lyrics while you play creates its own kind of 'sung' song experience. I felt the bridge coming.😊 This is, and is going to be, lovely.
