Are You Ready For War?

Well, I wasn't sure what to make of this when I was coming up with the arrangement - it was on my list of 'maybe finish it next FAWM' songs, but somehow it got done today.
This was another one of my experiments in programming the guitar - so what you hear up until the enormous fat riff at the end is through Kontakt, then my playing takes over when I needed to a fat riff no computer could possibly handle.
Quick vocal, not going nearly as hard as I should have 'cause I could hear the neighbours at home through the wall. Imagine it's Jaz Coleman in full roar mode, not me in 'please don't bang on the wall and make me embarrassed' mode.
This began as a little idea I'd labelled 'gothy KJ picking, Nov 2023', with an extra note on the spreadsheet that it's specifically Killing Joke circa 1987. As you do.
Drums: SD3 Dark Industrial Bass: Kontakt Punkbass through Guitar Rig 7 Guitars: Kontakt Electric Sunburst (picking) and my Danelectro '59 (riff) both through Tonex Synths: FM8, Minimonsta, LUCEifer (Polymoog) Vocals: Ovox, Echoboy, H-Delay, etc.

Very much enjoyed the vibe of this. Cut out the middle man is an interesting lyric too.
not sure if i approve of using something old in fawm, but i guess it's your fawm, do what you want. good sounds. i especially like the use of echo on the vocals. it all feels very alive.
Nice work with the Kontakt library. Sure it’s basic but it works. I’m actually spending some time with those libraries over the next few weeks to see how useful they are for me. I used the acoustic ones on a couple of tracks this month and they filled nicely. Nice hook here. Your arrangements are always so full and I dig that.
