i can read

Liner Notes

my daughter asked to collaborate. She asked me to play drums so she could sing her song idea.

There are kids who say she can't read because she is in kindergarten, but she can.

recorded into my phone, and she was in control of that which is why the last cymbal is cut short, lol.

Wow! Her singing is excellent! It is on pitch better than most adults. I love songs by kids, for kids. I really like the bravado in the lyrics on this one.

But I can! Perfect!

This song speaks right to me at that age! Such a frustrating experience. Drums and a confident melody are an excellent way to express it.

Young songwriter, I believe you, and well done.

This song too. It’s taking back to the songs my daughter recorded while she was getting ready to start kindergarten. And the book she wrote with three letter words - like the Bob books. So much emotion and a glimpse into what life feels like inside. And yes to providing a beat as another demonstration of how to be a good parent.

How fun! I miss the days of my kids being part of my FAWM. This is a righteous joy. Thanks for sharing it with us β€” and for sharing the love of making music with your daughter!

@heather

Omg I love this so much!!!! The next generation, bursting with creativity, ideas and self-belief. The best song on fawm.

I don't know if she can read, but she sure can write and sing a song! I like the abrupt ending, it's very fitting. This is a wonderful, fantastic daughter-mother collaboration!
