How to Fix a Plumbing Problem
by @jonmeta
Liner Notes
I'm working on a couple of proper songs to finish off FAWM, but meantime wanted to do a quick one. This is a bit of silliness, but if you listen, you'll only be losing a minute and a half of your life. There's a deeper meaning here of #satire and #protest , because I can't help it. For the music, I first watched a 20 minute video on using Apple Live #loops, so I learned something new, and that's always good.
Lyrics
(Me:) Hey Mr Plumber, I got a little problem The toilet’s backed up, bubbling like a cauldron I don’t know how it happened and I don’t know how it broke The snake didn’t clear it and the plunger’s a joke It’s gotten beyond me That’s why I’m calling you Can you come over Tell me what I got to do?
(The Plumber:) There’s only one fix for you plumbing problems No half measures ever gonna solve ‘em. Bring a wrecking ball and a load of dynamite Plumbing woes are out of mind when they’re out of sight
They call me Mister Fix-it, and you couldn’t say fairer When I do a job there’s no margin for error Why be a handyman and owner and carer When you can rent a shack on my tacky Riviera?

i can also hear some of that elvis costello sarcasm in jon's delivery as well as in the clever lyrics. nice near rhyme with problem/cauldron. that pulled me in right away.
Great job working with the loops and creating something that sounds so good. Love the vibe, those horn parts are really nice. Kind of '80s ska-like, reminscent of Madness. Cool lyric!
Damn this is fun, you’re using the hell out of those loops! Some brilliant Elvis Costello vibes when the unscrupulous plumber starts interjecting, you’ve got the vocal mannerisms down pat and everything! Love the way you’re building the arrangement through the opening section too, and those Middle Eastern-sounding textures are fab. A little gem!
Great allegory in this one, I picked up the deeper meaning right away! You may be right! Fun sound overall!
That sounds pretty cool, catchy too. Maybe I should invest a little time with those loops to save myself from myself. I would like to divest myself of my worries on your tacky Riviera, I think, though I might not know myself. Definitely earworm potential here
aha I get the undertone, clever! nice little song to slip in. really nicely put together
