Lyrics
She let her age naturally rise Across her skin like the sun But were her lips good enough? Was her tummy flat enough? Was the smile worth the effort? Was she really that tough? She's in with the skin crowd And the light shines on
He sees the drooping in his eyes It’s a fools game this time He’s the court jester Feels the weight of his thighs Rubs the wattle round his neck And begins to realize He’s in with the skin crowd And the light shines on
Is my love too selfish? Maybe I can change it Is my mind too wild? Maybe I can tame it Is my heart big enough? Maybe I can enlarge it Is my soul losing steam? Maybe I can recharge it. I’m in with the skin crowd And the light shines on
What a tale this tells. Glorious! That growling Hammond is (chef's kiss). The Sly Roxy Music reference made me smile too (I had to play that as a cover in a band I was in in the 80s, because the singer was a huge fan but it was nothing like anything else in the set...)
