I was unhappy to be finishing on 41 songs, so decided to celebrate the end of FAWM with one last experiment - making something using synths/sample packs etc I hadn't touched at all in the previous 41 demos.
Decided it would be easiest to write another portentous/pretentious instrumental piece, and after two hours of trying random different things, ended up with this... I guess it's another overture or something for the concept album? Was fun to make anyway.
Yeah it starts quiet, but don't worry. It gets 'there'.
Synths: Massive, Monark (Reaktor), some Kontakt sample packs Bass: UAD Opal Morphing Synth Drums: Kontakt samples, plus SD3 Fields of Rock (the one exception to my "I haven't used this yet" rule)

The intro Feels a bit like the opening of Time from Dark Side of the Moon. There’s a really satisfying tension and release when that first synthy sweep comes in, and then a big climax at 2:30ish when the beat drops. This was a fun listen!

Very cinematic sound, I literaly started seeing flows of the water - the river, waterfall. And something eerie creeping through the woods. When it speeds up, the tension is unbearable but the rhythmic drums and solo synth somehow resolve it in the end. Great work!
