How can I reach you?
Liner Notes
This would have been an acoustic one take, except that I couldn't play and sing it properly at the same time (just those hammer on/off bits in the chorus - arguably, I couldn't play them without singing, but that argument is moot, because this is the best I could do in the time available).
I am really quite happy, despite the melancholy music I am churning out.
Lyrics
It's a little too long since you were here It's a little too far to call out And it's not getting any nearer now It's not getting any easier
How can I reach you? How with you hear my words? How can I make you feel what I am feeling?
Yesterday seems so long ago And tomorrow is quite unfathomable Time doesn't move the same way now Doesn't seem to move at all
How can I reach you? How with you hear my words? How can I make you feel what I am feeling?

This is beautiful, Helen! I listen a few times to fully take it. It's simple but so universal and effective.
I'm so used to either the shouty punk or the atmospheric instrumentals that this one caught me off guard - in agood way, I should add. It's a smashing reminder of justy how much I love hearing you sing 😀
I like how the lightness of the music contrasts with the bleak lyrics. Your voice is lovely, as always, and harmonises well with the guitar.
That's a very pretty song. I'd wave a lighter but it's been five years since I carried one. I'm quite happy too! Weird how sometimes sad songs turn up anyway. I'm glad you're happy and it's a lovely chorus melody too.
This is melancholy for sure. I think all the sad true crime music has rubbed off. :) Still, it's a really pretty song. I love the vocal movement in the chorus, well really the entire vocal melody is lovely, but those how's are great.
Cool... always good to hear those guitar/vocals... nice chorus....
This is really sad in just the right way. Very elegantly done.
