Dan: @fairplay made this amazing filthy track which I absolutely loved and I asked if I could stick some vocals over it. I managed to write some lyrics that fit quite nicely and just got back from a night out and got some vocals down. I hope that I have at least not made the original worse.

Lyrics

Follow the money, Chase the trail down, It’s all in the numbers, Take the brain out, Sever the mainlines, Kill the computer, Zeros and ones, In no particular order. Follow the heartbeat, In the interest of love, Sleep on the floor, But it’s never enough...

Goodnight to your angels, Farewell to your love, Everything’s new here, Your scars become cuts, Everything backwards, To have or have not, No-one will miss me, Fit like a glove.

I like the contrast between the heaviness of the track and the lightness of the vocals. The short declaration lines feel just right, and the idea of the chaos of the zeros and ones in no particular order feels like it conjures up an analog world where love is a game of chance.

the weird (? in the best way) squeaky synth vid game trumpet starting at 01:00 was so unexpected in the best way. I like that the lyrics r quite deep and sad but the delivery is put in a more trippy / quirky way

Love the "unraveling" in between the verses. Very appropriate. As if the singer is using all their restraint to sing so cooly but underneath they're about to lose their shit. "Sleep on the floor/But it’s never enough..." and "No one will miss me" cut deep.

The quirky sounds after each vocal section are so fun and crazy but fit really well. Very disjointing!

Love the line 'everything's new here, your scars become cuts'. The vocals work really well agaisnt that unnerving bass line.

Crikey. That's a great combination of vocal boldness & harmonies with that buzzy bass lead, exposed live wires and ghosts in the machine. Hope that makes sense! Anyway, the overall Boschian (?) atmosphere is captured very neatly.

O yes. This is right up my alley. Love that big o bass!!!! And the uptempo drums are a really cool feel especially with the mangled saxy bits…the vox are very clean and fit very well with the grit glitch of the instrumental…this is one of my favorites for the month. If you wanna know whose alley this is up…it’s mine.

Ya the breakdown is exceptionally cool…I bow before you.

…wow!-wow! - this came out really great! - sorry to be the first one to comment, but i am really astonished how you changed that track with your impressive vocal performance! - i wonder if i should have left a little bit more space in the arrangement or perhaps added a third ‚structure‘ for you to fill in 😉 - thank you!…
