Thinking this might be what a happy mosquito, drunk on blood, might sound like.
That "professional sounding" musical instrument is called an Otamatone. It is apparently Japan's favorite musical toy (made in China).

That was fun. It's also the first Otomatone-based song I've heard this year. "Drunk mosquito" is a spot-on description of what they sound like...
