I think I may have stuffed too much into this song. I probably spent more time on this one song than all my others for FAWM this year, and it's... well, it's a song.
I learned a lot about my instruments, and music in general while doing this, so it's a win for me. Also, my last song of the FAWM season. I've mentioned many times, but my FAWM time has been pretty limited. I'm just happy to have stretched myself and had some fun. So... here goes...
Lyrics
I’m sure most of you have heard the story of Mac Donald But have you ever heard the story about Jack? Well let me tell you
Old Jack Donald never been on no farm Skiddley dee a dee ba— dee-ba-doe But he played on the street to fill a tip jar Skiddley dee… He played a jazz song here, and blue song there He sang and played his instrument and filled up the air Old Jack Donald never been on no farm Skiddley dee a dee ba— dee-ba-doe
Old Jack Donald didn’t like the pigs He’d see ‘em eatin’ donuts, but not leave him no tips They park their squad cars here, and cruise their squads there The blast from their sirens could be heard from anywhere Old Jack Donald didn’t like the pigs
Old Jack Donald knew some foxes and moles But he never helped the pigs weasel into their holes They might horse around here, and mouse around there Jackie never was a rat, he’d shake his head and stare Old Jack Donald knew some foxes and moles
Old Jack Donald liked to hear the jazz cats He liked their fancy suits and their fedora hats They played a drum kit here, and a keyboard there They played the horns, the guitar, and bass and the snare Old Jack Donald liked to hear the jazz cats
