Lyrics
GO
We gotta go though it seems like we just arrived It was whirlwind trip but we all survived
Time has come to make our way Make it to the end of every day No looking back, no second thoughts I was there for you, every battle we fought
And what is this world we’ve stumbled upon Any sense of predictability is long gone
Something I read once upon a time In a book that used to a favorite of mine Cause everything seemed so unreal And now it looks like it’s the real deal
Now you say you wanna go back to the old schooldays Start all over again, and this time you can make your way
Well another chance sounds pretty good And you know we’d all take it, if we could But it’s not in the stars or the cards on the table So you’re gonna have to do just whatever you are able
So we gotta go. And we’ll go with heads held high And face all of our fears till the day we die

Those chords on "I was there for you, every battle we fought" are very satisfying!
"it's not in the stars or the cards on the table," I really like. It brings to my mind, those folks who just won't abide by their true fortune or reality. In futile breakout attempts, ask their horoscope, ask their Tarot, ask tea leaves, ask hands.
Oh, the loneliness of the waning hours of FAWM. This deserved at least a second comment. Nice protest song in the tradition of Woody and Dylan. I liked the stanza "something I read once upon a time....mine...unreal...deal". So we gotta go....with heads held high!
I like this, It's got some get up and Go! I Like the movement of the lyric and the wording too.
I immediately felt I was in good hands. Some combination of the chords, strum pattern, and then the entering voice. There's something complexly magical in "Something I read once upon a time // In a book that used to a favorite of mine." Love the phrasing of the singing on "Any sense of predictability is long gone." The whole song walks a great line between too vague and too specific that works well: the theme is clear; what it applies to is up to the listener.
