The Rain Came

Liner Notes

#folk #rain #girlwithguitar I did this one really fast. The recording is very noisy because I'm not turning off my computer to record to be faster......sorry if it is hard to listen to.

The Rain Came

I looked forward to the dawn and to the garden beyond
a bright, dewey flower's face swaying strands of Queen Anne's Lace but those hopes were washed away when the rain came

All my plans remain unknown the seeds of dreams left unsown heavy clouds were closing in pink skies turning gray and dim my world was washed away when the rain came

The drips stop drumming the sun is coming the quiet sounds strange

the yard's washed and dressed giving me it's best I'm glad the rain came

Cool how the narrator's attitude about the rain changes throughout the song.

pretty intro and the vocal then jumps out at you with some powerful lines! "hopes washed away" nice song

It's raining here and it's a perfect time to listen to this masterpiece! The music is amazing, and the song is beautiful!

Love this!! That C# major chord (I think that’s what I’m hearing lol) under the word “came” is so gorgeous, but really all of this is beautiful and I love the turn in the lyrics, too.

That little trill like run on the title line is gorgeous. Well, the whole melody, but I particularly like that little detail. A good title and well written. And I don't think the demo is extra noisy or anything. Sounds good to my (very tired after a month of FAWM) ears.

Wonderful melody. The bridge/changeup provides a very upllifting ending.

I think we're all writing stuff really fast, in these remaining hours. You probably would have liked to have written a couple more verses, but time's a wastin', right? It's short and to the point, you turned the mood around in those last couple of verses, and the result is a really good narrative, that shifts from cloudy to sunny, from gloomy to happy. I especially like that line "the quiet sounds strange" -- it's an oddball one, but a good one!
