Daydreams, Nightdreams

Skirmish: Daydreams and/or Nightdre... (@wylddandelyon)

Liner Notes

I saw the skirmish prompt and couldn't decide between daydreams or nightdreams so I wrote about them both. Thank you @wylddandelyon for the prompt!

Lyrics

Daydreams, night dreams Who can tell These days I don’t see the line So well Don’t matter whether the sun or the moon My head is a cloud, a bird, a balloon

I can fly a hundred thousand miles in a blink I’m gone from here, no time to think

In daylight I might have More control The night visions windows into My soul Two sides of a coin Two halves of a pair It’s not a question of when But a question of where

I can fly to the outer reaches of the universe Because sitting here is so much worse

This is an exceptional song. The wistful lyrics flow with grace and style, delivering a message that is simple, but still artful. But oh, the beauty of that melody! It's just absolutely captivating how it dips and rises with the chord changes to some places that are slightly unexpected at first but then you realize there was no better place for it to go whatsoever. And it all fits with your lovely vocal timbre like a glove. Totally impressed and somewhat mystified it hasn't gotten more attention. Maybe only because all your material is so fine.

What a beauty of a song! The writing, melody, your voice, I love it all. And so relatable these days. Great take on the prompt.

This is absolutely gorgeous - a beautifully poetic introspective song that feels so relevant given the complexities and confusion we are living through. You convey a compelling sentiment around that kind of inner angst amid external chaos beautifully.

I love this. What a wonderful take on the prompt. I used both too, but it wound up a kid's song for my granddaughter. This I could listen to over and over. I don't see the line so well either. Great lyrics, sweet melody, and fabulous voice. Again, I just loved it!

A fittingly dreamy sound, especially how you trail off into a hum.
