The Statue of Liberty Is Melting
Liner Notes
And here we go another FAWM. Last 50/90 I unintentionally started off kinda political, so this time it's intentional, it's a bit of a generic sounding one for my standards but I'll make sure to do some wacky stuff this year. Maybe I'll get 14 FAWM tracks this time, excluding lyric only skirmishes and album tracks. And as always if you for some reason want more of me my youtube has hundreds of (bad) songs.
Lyrics
Everybody wants to be less political If they try they'll just be hypocritical They'll stuff it down your throat If you don't want no more Have you ever seen so many red flags? Have you ever seen so many red flags? The statue of liberty is melting
They set us up, from the start We let the monsters in They'll hit us soft, they'll hit us hard They're gonna break your heart Some people fear the end, well this is where it starts
Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining
Some people vow to make your life worse Those people want the worst for themselves As they think it's some kind of help Well, goodbye rights, hello wrongs Can't wait to be strung along a rocky road
Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining
If it wasn't for double standards We wouldn't have any standards Great nations fall When the people think they know it all
There is nobody, to hold your hand It was 1933, they had solid plans They promised paradise, they gave us extra lies Are we really gonna fall for the same mistake twice?
Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining Something right, shouldn't need convincing Something right, should just need explaining Something right, shouldn't need convincing (Have you ever seen so many red flags?) Something right, should just need explaining (Have you ever seen so many red flags?)

Love the vibe of this—it really gives me something to think about. The way you crafted the song makes it both thought-provoking and engaging.
man, the Chorus is so true...
I really like the chorus in this. It's kind of a mashup of punk rock vibes meet over the top synth work. I don't know why that works, but for me, it does. Killed it. I really liked the way you delivered "1933". Wasn't expecting a muted syllable and regardless if you did that on purpose or not, it was awesome!
Ooh, I love that beat and the "rubbery" synth sound in the intro. The lyrics feel right on.
Hell yeah! Love me some political synth crap. I always struggle getting my synths to sound right, so I really admire how things just "fit" in this.
I don't know much about electronic music but this is great! The chorus is so right on.
Catchy chorus. Nice synthy backing. I like the lyric 'They promised paradise, they gave us extra lies' - seems that covers all politics everywhere these days.
nice work! I suspect a lot of us 'went political' in our first songs here this year (I know i did!) some great lines for sure ('goodbye rights, hello wrongs' is fantastic) and the music is a good fit for the lyric!
I have to watch externally on YT as it says I need to sign in, small barrier for some maybe.
Hard to tell which side you're on as they are as bad as each other. You failed the Godwin's law test though.
That's weird - I commented on this yesterday as one of my 2 #tit4tat songs and it seems not to be here. I was drawn in by the title, The Statue of Liberty is Melting" - so true at the moment. Don't know much about electronic stuff but I really enjoyed it and like the vibe. Favourite line is "If we didn't have double standards we wouldn't have standards". There is so much clever wordplay here I am so glad you mentioned 1933 - it was the first thing I thought of in the run up to the election but no-one else seems to mention it. Love the "goodbye rights, hello wrongs", and then the punch at the end of the last chorus "Have you ever seen so many red flags" - I hadn't noticed the double meaning at the beginning - very clever!
