I am a native Irishman living in the Uk for the past 38 years. I have escaped, I am officially retired. Should be able to do a bit more this year and am as ever looking forward to meeting some new people, some old friends and some new and interesting collaborations.

Releasing stuff under the name Machine Soul Collective now. Feeling quite productive at the moment and have a lot of subjects to write about.

Got my hands on Komplete 14 recently. loads of really nice stuff in there which I think may well be making an appearance. Back to using Logic again along with Cubase. Logic has added some great stuff recently. It's like a friendly arms race.

Happy to collab in any way you need, recording engineering mastering, singing, bassisting, music to lyrics, lyrics to music. Hit me up if I can help in any way and I am always looking for singers who would like to try one of my songs.

Peace to all and very happy and productive FAWMing

Looking forward to working with some of you lovely folks again this year.

Thanks very much for your comment on "The Mica in the Stone." I'd like to learn more about production but definitely appreciate being able to uke-and-post! :)

@jeff9

Very kind of you to take a listen to As Good As She Looks. Thanks mucho for the nice comment!

[avatar]

Thanks for the nice comments about Sidle Up (Turn Off the Lights). I really appreciate your time and feedback. Hope to see you next FAWM.

Ah yeah I see now, the vocal harmonies. I didn't know what Audimee was but jumped to conclusion it was a generator

nice one, yep it's got my approval

[avatar]

Raven sounds great, guys!! @gm7

[avatar]

Well i went down the rabbit hole Davey and just posted a song with me singing converted to a male vocal. It was a quick and dirty experiment and not as sophisticated as your production but im so intrigued about the ways i can use this in the future. As someone who is trying to write more songs for other people and other uses, having this to play with is really interesting.

[avatar]

Verdict is I like it. How much of the music was you vs the ai ? I'd like a lil breakdown to what parts you did. Not that it takes away from the piece, I think it works as is. It has that Ai generator hallmark, but my guess is you did the piano at the start ? And I believe you did the backing but voice changed to a female voice ? Good job

@gm7

I Never got into in AI generated music but I had to try it and now you have done it for me...very cool outcome I have to admit ! Thx Dave

Done Sir

Great Sir...dark and mysterious the Ravens be!. Do your thing and Thx

Hey man! Glad you liked "Fly, Be Free". i don't hear it as an EDM song. I think more of a soaring rock thing.

[avatar]

Hey Davey, I have just listened to your song with Paul called Beliefs and was blown away by the AI conversion of your vocal. It is completely by fluke, but I wrote a song that is written for a man to sing. So I just tried it out and am completely blown away by that AI site!! It’s so good to ‘hear’ it like I intended it. This is going to be so handy!

[avatar]

Thanks again Dave!

[avatar]

Hey David! Great work on "Beliefs." Before I read your notes, I thought "wait a minute, it was a guy who volunteered to write music." Really interesting to use AI to create a female voice, which I agree works well! But I realize underneath all of that is an excellent melody and arrangement, so thanks for bringing my lyrics to life!

[avatar]

Thanks, that would be amazing. Oh Wise King is one of my favourites from this year's FAWM

[avatar]

Your comment doesn't half scare me, saying it'll be a classic with that laughing emoji. Not sure whether I should be scared or laughing :| Really hope you mean well

[avatar]

Thanks @daveyboy103 for the comment about my mic ("Pomponio 1984"). I did not know there was such a thing. :)

[avatar]

Hi Daveyboy, sure yes, I'd like for you to make the song. I didn't know how I would make it into a song, so have at it :)

Davey! you're smokin' over here! WoW! Totally on Fire - Thanks for the update on You I Adore - you truly took the song to a new level for me - love it when when words are turned into lyrics... I've used Suno for a couple of tunes and was impressed as well - personally I think it's a killer songwriting tool - gives me immediate feedback as to what's working and melodic ideas - Thanks again! KC

Hi, Dave, Impressive “Guitar Wall” you’ve got there! Thanks for your comments on @sheslin’s and my collab, A Man I Don’t Know. Glad you enjoyed it. She and I had a lot of fun together, and It’s good to know you liked the reverb in the Chorus. Thanks for taking the time to check out our song.

Dia duit a Davey!

I'm a plastic paddy myself, born in Liverpool. But my paternal grandma was a Dubliner. Born and bred in the Coombe! And her family had their roots in Connemara.

[avatar]

Thanks for the comparison with the MASTER - Ronnie Drew! I used to be a semi-pro Folk Singer in the 1980s...

Here in Catalunya they always tell me I remind them of Ian Anderson of Jethro Tull! I'll take both comparisons, thank you! 😁

[avatar]

Hi Davey. Sure, I would be happy for you to have a run at a Celtic folk version of Beliefs. As I mentioned in my notes, feel free to reorder or eliminate some verses …or maybe make one a chorus (like the “In spite of…” verse). Do what feels right to you. I look forward to hearing it. Thanks for your interest!

[avatar]

Wow! You really brought your A game to the music! It is beautiful and moving, conveying the sentiment so perfectly! Thank you for your thoughtfulness, talent, and time! Much appreciated! Liz

[avatar]

thanks for your comment on "Looks Alone Won't Do It." Much appreciated.

Thanks for your comments on my song Quiet Apocalypse - I can see the Morrissey thing now you point it out!

[avatar]

Thank you much for your appreciation of my Sealy chord progression, a little chromatic progression in anything can help us to get away from the constraints of western music, I suppose.

On the barks, yes, I am an odd fellow! But... well, though my master says my barks are terrible and how can I even call myself a proper seal, others here have tried to restore my confidence in my identity....Odd though, yes (rhymes with Todd, must be a Sweeney relation in my blood?)

@geoff61

hi Dave sure, i'd like that.

Brother, you play the Del Amitri card with me... you can now expect my everlasting affections!
