Liner Notes

This song my for the #CommentsFirst challenge (https://write.fawm.org/forums/3025). It was written based on these comments:

@beacon: I like the change in beat structure from the verses to the choruses. Is that 4/4 to 6/8? (✓)

@billwhite51: beto communicates the essence of humanity;s detachment from itself witth this tale of a spaceman lost in the void who dreams of returning to earth when his visions and memories are manifested by a meteor shower that eats drifting spacemen and to elude their hungry mouths. he falls into a black hole. beto's high tech background coupled with his very human sensitivity results in a simple song that equals 2001 A Space Odyssey in its sense of wonder and intellectual depth. (I tried!)

@chill4matt: When the percussion comes into play, the song really rocks. Nice one! (I hope so!)

@nancyrost: Love the bilingual rhymes! (English/Portuguese and French/English)

@coolparadiso: Oh I love the xylophone, particularly in that offbeat style, Bravo! (✓)

Lyrics

So very creative- that build is subtle and I didn't see it coming on. The sparseness of the lyrics make it much more effective. I love the idea that "peace is here now" and the sense of togetherness with peace as a form of company. Really inspiring stuff.

Interesting. Nice hw you incorporated all the comments. Nice soundscape right at the start and I like how it builds up from there. I like how there is always a dissonant sound very closly after the piano in the first beat, that makes the whole scene a bit uneasy. I like how the rhythm isn't immediately clear until pretty late into the song. The kinda erratic drums are really interesting to, especially the snare echo thing (0:48). The slightly erratic drum pattern around 1:15 means the uneasiness is never really resolved. And then, at 1.40, all the support just seems to stop and the spaceman is on his own... I liked the echo effect on the vocals.

nice work! the sample & hold bits add glitchiness but it also feels pretty organic. did you play the percussion by hand even though they're synths/samples? spacy and could easily listen to another several minutes of it...

Very cool track. So great that you could accomodate all of these ideas into it. Very enjoyable listen!

Ooh, trilingual even! This is profound and touching in its direct simplicity -- really fits the prompts beautifully!
