Future Calling

Liner Notes

#folkrock #acousticonetake A big philosophical idea from a dream, connecting adventure and destiny.

Lyrics

It’s natural to spend some time Dwelling in the past The lessons and regrets And the things you hoped would last

You remember summer thunder And dream of leaves falling But when you’re dreaming of adventure That is the future calling

Don’t let your soul family Provide the ties that bind you Wherever else that you might go They have a way to find you

Sometimes your car speeds you on And sometimes it is stalling But when you’re dreaming of adventure That is the future calling

We’re torn between our hometowns And the things we long to see Can life be calm and peaceful And when will we be free

We see the writing on the wall And try to read the scrawling But when you’re dreaming of adventure That is the future calling

I like this idea of becoming 'unstuck'. The future is a world of opportunities to seek out. Very lovely song.

really lovely lines and imagery in this write. The guitar also has a really bright and twangy ring to it that makes this song feel hopeful. Nice!

The line about being torn between our hometown and the things we long to see really connected with me. A lovely folky song.
