So two years ago I managed a few songs for FAWM, but last year I earned a big fat zero. I only managed to draft the lyrics of the first stanza of the song you'll find below.

Why? I had just adopted a three year old rescue dog who was, and is, sweet as pie but came home to us horribly sick with giardia, and scared of her own reflection. Literally.

She has been worth every moment of effort teaching her how to be courageous, helping her get well and put some weight back on, and generally learning how to be a much loved dog in her forever home. In honor of our first year together (slightly overwhelming for the both of us though it was!) I decided I should finish the rest of the song that I barely managed to start last year. <3

As per usual with me, the demo will come later unless someone would like to collab!

I used to go and do things on a Friday night But then I got a dog Now if I say “I’m busy” I mean “we’re snuggled tight” Just me and my sweet dog

I love this so much! We adopted a dog in summer of 2021 (who luckily did not have any particular health issues immediately, though there were a couple of emergency vet visits in the first few months), and she saves our lives every day, even when she's an absolute menace. Excited to hear whatever you come up with for a demo! 💜

lots of fun in this one! Can't imagine a dog having giardia... Ugh! You capture new dog ownership really well! We have a rescue who is truly part of the family!! Great write!
