This is actually song #3, I just can't post #2 yet as I don't have the audio from Cafe Coda yet...I wrote that song yesterday and taught it to the house band for Monday Blues last night, so that's gotta wait until I get the audio. So I worked on this funky thing after work today, inspired by a pizza outing over 20 years ago when my wife, when asked if we wanted mushrooms on the pizza, quipped "I don't eat fungus - fungus grows on feet!" LOL...I've wanted to use that in a song ever since, and here it finally is! I just got the Funk Masters expansion for EX Drummer, which has loops played by Jabo Starks and our (Madison WI) very own Clyde Stubblefield, the Original Funky Drummer! I used Clyde's drum loops to build the rhythm track. Bit of a tribute to Clyde, and to James Brown, with a little bit of Bootsy.
In these dark times, never forget to be goofy at times, we damn well need it!

Huh! James Brown, you done proud. This is the heaviest funk I've heard in years! You got it all, the B3, the drums, the bass groove and those vocals are fantastic! I'm wiggling right outta my seat!

I love EZ Drummer and have her big sister Superior Drummer 3 after becoming a massive Toontrack fan (EZ Keys, EZ Mix). Your funky bass is so lush I am in total awe!!! I also have a Fender Jazz Bass but I can’t play her like you do yours. I love the Hammond but that bass is the star of the show. Fangirl over here!

This is hilarious! OMG. I never really heard the Dr. John quality of your voice until this one. This also sounds like something Prince might do. There is so much going on here to appreciate: B3, slap and pop bass, funky guitars, and of course the amazing vocals. All of the "yehs" and "ows" and "get it" and "lay it down" are so fun.

Such a stupid title. Of course I had to listen to this first. After hearing the initial funk guitar, that really remind me of some adult themes videos, "fungus amungus" got a really different meaning for a sec.
But all kidding aside, great song, sounds like you had fun and it's a pleasure for me too. Spot on execution.

Absolutely humongous track! Impossible not to bop along, the combo of that b3 wizardry, wah wah and slap bass is intoxicating. Love the silliness and wordplay, and all the little James Brown grunts and yelps. Amazing mix too. Hell yeah!!

Oh, man, Funk is exactly what I need at this stage of mainlining FAWM songs before they draw the drawbridge up....Bopping along on the couch in a junior suite in a Hilton Garden Inn, while my daughter talks in her sleep. Give me some of that Chicken Grease...I like fungus, but my kids don't. This could be a Sesame Street guest appearance. Glad to hear your voice one more time....
