Up Wake Yourself
Skirmish: Wake up! (@atornberg)Liner Notes
Lyrics
(TL;DR)
Hard, soft, just right Can’t sleep there’s a pea Slept for 20 years Just my name Apple poisoned, but not really dead Killing curse softened
(Why)
Just trespassing Proving that I’m real Running from the wife Still my name Flawless white skin, step-mom jealousy Don’t know why I'm just a baby
(Where)
Not in my house Castle isn’t mine Somewhere in the woods Still my name Coffin of glass guarded night and day Castle full of thorns...everyone with me

I love when the air just leaves the entire production. It’s a musical equivalent of a coughing fit or getting winded in conversation…it’s so cool!
Love this wacky organic vocal chord/rhythm.
And the lead vocal delivery by Debs is killer as always.
I love how I got took on a sweet fantasy journey with each verse.
Great job! What a cool skirmish tune!
Great lyrics! And the production is so damn cool, the loops are perfect and so engaging!
This is a great example of what FAWM can do : push you into places you might not go without its limitations. This is fantastic and really the best cast scenario for a collab - it seems equal parts 2 people, both playing into what makes them "them".
Love this!
Quirky, original and fun. I like it. Lovely voice. Cool track. :-)
Love this! A poppy, edgy mashup of fairy tales - reminds me of some of the work on the classic Hal Willner collection (1988) of Disney song interpretations "Stay Awake" https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Stay_Awake:_Various_Interpretations_of_Music_from_Vintage_Disney_Films
The rearranged syntax and the chanting back voice add that “I can’t sleep and the whole world is upside down and twisted” insomniac vibe that the lyrics start out with. It’s a very compelling track, good listen!
Very cool. Your voice is so beautiful and the syncopated rhythm between the two voices is great. Sometimes I think I have a little princess royalty in me cause I’m sensitive to to even the tiniest crumbs in my bed. 🥹
Brilliant absolutely brilliant. Makes even more frightening a frightening tale (show Disney the door, please. We're having Bambi for dinner.) the repeated upwake yourself just makes it creepier and nastier! And such an innocent voice, Debs!
Cool! I like the fairy tale elements and the insistent "Up wake" part and a yawn. Surreal and well executed!
Fabulous fairytale telling tryptic! Love the backing vocals and rhythms behind such a lovely flowing melody.
