Frozen Lonesome is the music and video project of Steve Raizen. I make ambient string-fuzz, astral funk, and generally pleasing electronic noise.
2025 will be my 11h FAWM and I couldn’t be more excited. After last year, I put out a 10 year retrospective of my FAWM journey so far. https://frozen-lonesome.bandcamp.com/album/frozen-fawm-faves
This year I will be using vintage public domain sales training and long form sales commercials as audio sample source material.
I wish everyone a happy and creative FAWM.Audio/Video explorations https://www.youtube.com/@frozenlonesome
All my previous FAWM albums are available for free or pay what you like at my Bandcamp. https://frozen-lonesome.bandcamp.com

You're welcome! In the morph challenge most people try to cover the song and add their own elements. I never saw somebody remixing it. Fresh wind is welcomed! I would looove to hear some punk and roll! Never heard this genre in FAWM!
Hiya, thanks so much for lovely comments on my songs! Sorry this so late too .. I'm glad it helped with the dentist trip!
Congratulations on the win this year! Thank you so much for sharing an hour+ of your world with us. I appreciate all the hard work you do, you've got such a unique vision! Thank you as well for your kind comments, I always appreciate them! Have a good next year, and glad I could listen!
What better place for a studio in Winnipeg than in a basement? It just seems to fit. 🤣
Ahh, ok, just reread your comments. You had listened the Sing Together piece and came by to have a listen to my song. Very much appreciated!
Hi Steve, thanks so much for you kind comments on Garden of Souls. I appreciate the Nick Cave reference. Very cool. Fun working with you on that insanely fun Sing Together piece! I'm intrigued by your use of vintage reels. Looking forward to putting the cans on, as you recommend and listening to yours!
that's why i commented it, because there IS SO MUCH out there i was like "whoa me and froze-lone be watching the exact same stuff...sweet!"
Thanks for your comments on my song Pebbles .Really appreciate it . I am a bit of a pebble collector !
Thanks for the listen and comments on 'Pussycat' - I know the song isn't purrr-fect but it was the best I could do with a cat headbutting me!
hi Frozen thank you for all your kind words on my tracks, and for exploring my classical work too!! that means a lot to me and i'm so honored it resonated with you. it's real fun existing in both worlds 🌷😇
thank you for the comment on my tale.
Thanks for your comments. To answer your question, octolute is word I made up because it sounds cooler than "8-string baritone ukulele tuned differently than normal."
Many thanks for your positive comments on Seventh Heaven (Revisited)! Well done for hitting 15 songs too, very good going.
That's what appeals to me about them; the mysterious bleeps and bloops. As well as the old-timey telephone switchboard look. I wouldn't be reading the manual, I'd just jump right in! Thanx for the explanation.
Thanks for the nice comments on my tracks! :)
It's a side gig that could be a main gig. Think Dave Porter, who did Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
Thanks for the kind words about I Love You More Than My Guitar Pedals. Much appreciated. I have to agree with you about the guitar solo. When I listen to it now, I wish it was about twice as long as it is. But such is life. Thanks for the encouragement!
Thank you for your comments and feedback on a couple of my songs. Very much appreciated!
I agree! A lot of people here are very focused on the positivity, so there sometimes isn't much said to improve songs though...
Thanks for checking out “maybe” glad you connected with the lyric!
Maaan, I don't know what planet you're from, but thank for dropping in on Earth!!!
Thanks for the link to your YouTube playlist. I'm there quite often, so I gave you a sub and I'm going to check out your videos in my free time. :)
Sorry, I think I wasn't clear. I didn't mean the volume of the samples, the mix is great. I meant different sections of the song, where some sections the samples took center stage, and other times the synths were the focus. Of course it's your song! Do what you like :)
Oh yeah I know Soma! I saw the Flux a few months back and wanted to buy it for my FAWM partner! He's been dealing with hand issues for awhile now and it's made it impossible to play bass drums and guitar, but he manages to still work with synths. So I thought that thermin/synth combo tool would be right up his alley 🎵🎶
Oh yeah i will be checking out your playlist. That thing is insane!
Thanks for your nice words on Ordinary Flower. Yeah it was a quick one. Diving on for a listen to yours now 😎
Yeah Dad jokes are the best!!
Thanks for the comment on Lydia. Really glad you like it. I wasn't sure, so it was nice to hear. Thanks.
Thanks for your comment on Corporate Scam. I was in fact referencing a lot of tracks from Magical Mystery Tour! Especially, Baby You're A Rich Man, Strawberry Fields, and Walrus. I will check out your music and comment.
Yay, can't wait to listen! I'm surprised you weren't able to fit the lyrics in; there's a dedicated space for that, no? :)
Thank you for your comment on "If Wishes Were Poolboys" -- and I'm glad you have that kind of love!
oh, thank you muchly for the kind meaningful comments on those three songs.
Thanks for your comment on my folk draft. I did not enjoy it because I don't identify with the genre. And I also don't identify with major chords. It has sort of a verse - chorus structure, but something is missing.
@russ isn't able to get to the morph just now which means you're up! https://write.fawm.org/songs/305049
Cool. If I had to pick a favorite it would be this Ford sales training video starring Hugh Beaumont, who later played the dad in the US TV show Leave It To Beaver
I don't know if that made it to the Great White North, but some of the sales tactics probably did.
glad you liked 'kind and polite'. I'm a crusty old curmudgeon so I'm okay bringing up difficult subjects.
What a fun profile wow! Thanks for the listen and comment on Don't Forget much appreciated!!
Ohh, deep cut mentioned! Face to Face is a fantastic compliment. I will take that, sir. haha Thanks for checking out my little songs!
Hey thanks for listening to my song and commenting. You're right. It is like early rock n roll, I suppose. I was thinking rhythm n blues.
Hey there! Looks like we’re paired up for the postcard challenge. I didn’t see your email on your profile (perhaps due to my technological challenges), but feel free to email me at the email on my page. I’m looking forward to it!
Hey, thank you for your comment on "I Can See You Now". We're sorry you lost someone too - we wish you healing and catharsis. May the muse keep you company.🌼
Much appreciated dude! Gonna fall down that rabbit hole this week!
eh oh; thanks for the kind words on 'icy leaves'—been looking for a reason to use all those bells.
So glad you’re back, and can’t wait to hear all the NFB vibes that you so naturally produce!
Sincerest condolences FL, I hope this FAWM is a somewhat meaningful and cathartic journey for you. I hope you can do a song in her memory.
Here we go. Can’t wait! 🎶
Sorry to hear about your mom..virtual hugs!
You are very welcome, I enjoyed listening. There is nothing wrong with improvisation. I often improvise and sometimes I prefer my improvisations to my songs I've spent ages creating.
Yes! Thank you for all of your comments and kind words throughout. I don’t want this MALM to end. 🎶 I will see you next year to do it all again!
