Skirmish: Ordinary objects into met... (@ally_nicole)

Liner Notes

OK, so super late to the #skirmish. This one needed to percolate. And perhaps it's still disconnected. I wandered around the house looking for ordinary things - the stained glass remembrance lamp, my smartphone, TV remote. Click, click, why are we on vertical hold? By then, the golden skirmish hour had evaporated. But...presented now for your approval #rock #fullproduction #protest

Lyrics

ORDINARY OBJECTS (c.2025 raspberry33)

VERSE 1: The Remembrance lamp puts splotches on the wall You approach, a ghost in the hall As you turn, you’re luminescent and if I’m prescient Your inner light says it all

V2: Click again for a change of scene Broken dreams, outstanding warrants Click again and someone wants to sell Beautifully sparkling objects

CHORUS: Who controls the horizontal? Why are we stuck with vertical hold? I have buttons on my phone and there’s AI always listening Can’t they see us as more than consumers?

VERSE 3: I click and the cloud will deliver Whoever is now enraged Did we trade a cow for a bean-stalk And the let the dream fly the cage

V4: Click again for a change of scene Did he say he’d give up sex for omelets Click again someone wants to sell us Beautiful sparkling objects

"Did we trade a cow for a bean-stalk" is a nice literary allusion in a lyric that feels like paranoia manifesting with a lot of truth behind it.
