Who are the magicians?

Skirmish: “MAGIC” (@corinnecurcio)Liner Notes
this is a quick iPhone live recording, down and dirty, of a song written quickly for a skirmish- the topic was 'magic' and I tried for something I guess addressing some of the current situation out there....
Lyrics
We want to see a cosmic magic trick To make all bad things disappear Most of us here are feeling sick On the street, you can almost smell the fear
Can you do something big for us all And solve this problematic situation Like ghostbusters, who are we gonna call To help make right this nation
We need somebody more powerful then Kreskin Bigger then Houdini himself
Oh magician of our dreams, come and cast your spells We could be in heaven, instead we’re in hell
All of the magicians in all the towns Consulted and compared notes No smiles no laughs, only frowns When the magicians went and cast their votes
Each had their own version of abracadabra Each one said the others were wrong One said to the other ‘say that again, I’ll stab ya’ ‘yeah?”’you know what you can do with that wand’!
None of their magic did anything Unless more of them could agree
Who are those magicians, who casts those spells We could be in heaven, instead we’re all in hell
We are those magicians, who cast those spells…

Wow, Mike, any of your songs I click on convinces me right away. I am sucked into your atmospheres, your vocal presence and the overall tone of it all. So wonderful!!!!!
Wow, your guitar skills! Your vocals! Your sound… The lyrics the meaning. Well performed also! You are very skillfull!
Fantastic work! Rhyming "abracadabra" with "I'll friggin stab ya" deserves some kind of special recognition. Love the Steve-Miller-esque opening groove and how the chords shift into/out of the choruses. Great skirmish.
We are those magicians, who cast those spells… Great take away from this jaunty song - great lyrics and super rythmic guitar playing - I'd love to hear this when you take it to the next level - think it would be well worth doing. :-)
Comprehensive skirmish - it just flows! Love the story of the age-old battle of (often self-righteous) beliefs! We defo need some magic and fast! Loved this
Timely and spot on. I like the energy in the delivery and movement in the strum pattern. Wonderful extended metaphor for the state of current affairs.
Yup we all need that magician , perhaps a good one this time! Good song right in your wheelhouse! Nice skirmishing.
This has a great energy! I love the psychedelic effects, and the analogy of calling for a magician to save us, because we clearly need a magic trick, is excellent! Haha! tell 'em what to do with the wand!
Good write. Powerful chorus.
Oh wow this is excellent! You really are a master of your style. Your songs are distinctly Mike Skliar songs in a great way. Very well done!
Great stiff Mike! You're the best st this kind of song. So much truth!
Rockin' piece of commentary - vintage Mike Skliar! Fight the good fight with blues rock - I'm in!
I like the rocking guitar! Oh this is a great take on the prompt. I feel like the magic is going to be wearing off for those magicians once the reality hits of what they cast. Nice play on words - loved the nod to Ghostbusters, and a rocking good song about our current situation. Great skirmish!
Lol Well, I don't agree but thoroughly enjoyed reading and listening. Very creative. You make me think, I should have done one for this skirmish that had me get out my voodo dolls on the last election, that was a success in my thoughts. lol Cheers.
Love the rhythm of the guitar right out the gate. I also appreciate your willingness to use songwriting as a tool for discussing our current political climate, something i hope to do more of. Great skirmish!
You capture the mood of many of us very well. If only there were real magicians!
I like the big questions here — who are the players and who is only adding to the chaos?
You know what you can do with your wand...hahaha Vintage Mike Skliar . Love your take. Oh magician of our dreams, come and cast your spells We could be in heaven, instead we’re in hell sums it up nicely!
Lyrics and strumming combine to give this some strong imagery, the work pulls you in to the overall vibe it creates.
