Hannah says: I got together with my good friends @kebley and @taylor tonight, and we co-wrote this song from a starter Taylor brought to the table. On this recording Taylor's singing and playing guitar, I'm doing BGVs/keys, and Kyle's doing BGVs/mandolin.

Lyrics

Driving somewhere off of Highway 6 Towards a future we could not predict

And I asked you to come out of the car So that we could look up at the stars And I took a knee and I pulled out the ring From my pocket

We’ve seen changes since we said I do I look back on how we’ve made it through

When I brought you lunch outside the school When you happily worked the merch table All the little ways that we have learned to say That I love you That I love you

When it’s your brightest day I’ll be there And when your body breaks I’ll be there To have, to hold As we grow old With each new day’s sunrise I’ll be there When hope fades from your eyes I’ll be there My love, my friend Until the end

Getting around to checking out the rest of your work now. Beautiful use of space here, and I love the lush production, especially when it opens up into that soaring out chorus

@wynia

This would not be at all out of place on one of my acoustic playlists - is it available for streaming yet 🙃 Seriously y’all such a good song. All parts come together beautifully

Ahhh, I love a love song! This is lovely. I like the reminiscences, and the ease with which @taylor delivers the message. The BGVs sound perfect...so soothing.

This is so far from my usual listening habits but ut captivated me. Because the vocals are so great. The pace of the lyrics is good. And the sparse arrangement is just the way to go. I enjoyed it a lot on an emotional level!

Wow, this is enchanting. I could listen to it over and over. Gorgeous vocals, sweet simplicity letting this touching story stand strong. It feels very appropriate that I'm listening to this one on Valentine's Day. I forget who said that it's a lot harder to write a good happy song than a good sad song, but y'all sure managed it! That rippling keyboard at the end caps it off perfectly. This is just flawless.

This is so nice and smooth - the song just flows, with those gorgeous vocals that blend so perfectly and provide such a lushness of sound I can't hardly pick out the harmonies. Lovely, sweet, sentimental in all the right ways.

This was so much fun. Thanks for asking me to do it, Hannah!!

Not sure I can get to 14, but maybe I’ll try to do a few more before the month’s end?

@siasa

This is simply gorgeous. It sounds like it belongs on the soundtrack of something. One of the best things I've heard this month - and I've listened to a LOT!

[avatar]

Wow this is gorgeous! I'd add this to a playlist. Seriously just stunning you guys. 👏 👏 👏

Enjoyed this collab! The images of the "coming out of the car to look at the stars," the merch table, and "when hope fades from your eyes" are stunning. A definite Manchester Orchestra feel to this one.

This is just lovely--everything about it is terrific. Wonderful lyrics, nice simple guitar, and an AWESOME vocal. Really nice collaboration, everyone! ❤️

@serene

Love the soft strumming at the beginning and the vulnerable voice.. very pretty. Like how it builds too into the last chorus..

Oh wow! This is so pretty. Very pro sounding mix. If this popped up on one of my Spotify playlists it wouldn’t sound out of place. Definitely one of the best tracks I’ve heard this year. Kudos!

@jonmeta

Pretty amazing sound, your three voices harmonising. Online collabs are fine and all, but this is wonderful example of the beauty of writing and singing all in a room together.

So glad I clicked in this. I should be sleeping but this is so worth the interruption. Love everything about it. I need friends like this 😜. Just wonderfully done. Take a bow…

This is wonderful. Stunning voice and subtle arrangement. Lots of lovely little touches here and there. I would buy this. My favourite so far this year.

Edit:: one very minor thing: I’d be mildly uncomfortable rhyming school with table. (Tay- bool?, lol)
