Lyrics
Life Lessons [Verse 1] possessions are fleeting you hold them awhile they fade and they tarnish degrade in a pile
stacked up on a shelf all covered in dust forgotten and unloved starting to rust
[chorus] those things that we bought long ago brought home from a fabulous show items of value, or worth nothing at all we keep on the shelves in the hall once in awhile we may look and remember the joy that it brought but the years have passed by and we're no longer sure why we thought it should be here at all
[verse 2] memories are fleeting they come and they Go the things might remind us sometimes yes, sometimes no
taking them down to clean and to dust to pack up and donate seems so unjust
[bridge] the things we collect through the years reminders of joys or of tears now edited for the next stage of life and reduced to a precious few
[chorus] you can't take it with you, the old saying goes hard to face when you're going through it Yet in letting go, we find release A lighter heart, a sense of peace For what remains, the treasures true Are not in things, but me and you Memories live on in hearts so wide A wealth that stays, when we're side by side.

That first verse just grabbed my and wouldn't let go...Until the last chorus, which just brought it all home perfectly. Well done...
Beautiful, moving song. So nice to listen to.
what a lovely touching song. much deeper than a first look might show.
I love to hear a song that touches on clutter clearing. This song paints a detailed picture that I think the listener will relate to even if they live a very different kind of life.
Your recording is clipping like crazy but over and above that the song is a delight. Your voice is captivating and sounds utterly sincere. I’m rather taken by this piece of loveliness.
Lyrics so true and so gently sung. The last four lines are especially poignant.
Also, best wishes for a successful surgery in May. Hope it all goes well.
