For Freedom, Love and Hope

Liner Notes

I wanted to do some riffs that are too difficult for me, and succeeded! Tried to mask them with my 80s yamaha and death metal vocals :D Also did a lot of time signature changes on this one.

The middle part became some pathos-filled synth pop for some reason??!!

For the lyrics I just let out what ever came to the sticky note, and apparently it's a political song once again, as everything seems to bee going to 💩

Synth is once again my Yamaha DSR-500. Guitars are my old Jackson strat through Bogren RevC. Everything else is midi.

Lyrics

#deathmetal #synthpop #melodicdeathmetal

Are we there yet Have we reached the point of no return Has the jester cast his die Can we still count the cards

The deck filled with jokers Usurped all the queens Made fool of all the kings Raising clowns in their stead

Can we reach redemption? Is there a seat for mercy left In our communal table Overflowing with abundance But reserved only for the few

Can we only reach salvation Through violence and song Through love as well as hatred Until all is said and done

For the love to save eachother With hatred burning to break free To cast down our chains in tatters For freedom, love and hope

Wow! This is so atmospheric and theatrical! This is not my genre (my brother would absolutely adore this I think), but I can appreciate your skill here, and the backing instruments sound amazing. And then what it slows down into the synth section... Damn. Gorgeous vocals there... And I have to admit, finishing that little section and then going straight into the growling, that is super effective. I really dig the last stanza, lyrically.

Groovy black metal Los Angeles, 2019! Truly a travesty of perversions 😀

Dude this is nuts! The mix is so on point! Seriously sick vocal performance. Some parts of this remind me of Returning We Hear The Larks. Synth pop out of nowhere -- LOL! What a mashup of genres. The transition between them is handled expertly too. I'm a big fan of metal that throws a bit of something else into the mix. This is really awesome and inspiring. Great stuff!

I like it, especially the tag line and title. Sometimes it feels like mercy is an outdated concept, but no the title refutes that. You and the rest of us can find a way. Thanks for the song.
